We are now into the height of peach season, and it’s a great crop this year! Whether you prefer yellow, or white peaches, there’s a huge variety to choose from right now, with at least ten rows open for picking. We are currently offering the Peach Special: Buy 3 Peck Bags, Get the 4th Peck Bag Free! That’s a savings of $25.00, and you end up with a bushel of peaches (Nectarines can also be included in the Peach Special). This is also peak time for summertime sweet corn (this patch is a bicolor variety), and it is priced at $6.00 per dozen, or $.50 per ear. The other big news is that we have (literally!) TONS of juicy, ripe tomatoes! This is one of the best times of the year to load up tomatoes, because we are offering the Tomato Special: $2.00 per pound for tomato hauls over 20 pounds! Keeping the ripe tomatoes picked encourages the plants to produce more fruit, and also keeps the rest of the tomatoes that are developing on the vines healthier and less exposed to decaying, overripe fruit, which eventually turns into an open invitation to critters and insects. -So much better to keep these tomatoes getting picked daily! (Gazpacho, anyone?)
