Before you embark on your exciting journey through the farm, we have a few simple guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment. Think of these as the “secret ingredients” that make your visit to Hollin Farms unforgettable!

At Hollin Farms, we’re one big family, and we want you to feel like part of it. That means we all pitch in to take care of the farm and each other. Remember to be respectful of the environment, our animals, and your fellow visitors, as everyone’s cooperation makes for a truly delightful experience.

BEFORE YOU GO

Join us for a delightful day of fruit and veggie picking at Hollin Farms! As you gear up for a fun-filled experience, don’t forget to check out the rules below to ensure a safe, enjoyable visit. Happy picking!

  • Always check the website for picking updates one last time just before heading out.

    We sometimes have to make changes based upon weather and/or crop availability.

  • Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots

    preferably with closed toes/ sneakers.

  • We close promptly at closing time.

    Last pickers admitted 30 minutes before closing. Allow adequate time for picking and checking out.

  • Dress for the weather

    depending on the day, it could be hot, chilly, windy, etc.… Keeping a sunhat and extra layer on hand for everyone is a great idea!

  • Eat something before starting your journey.

    It’s more fun to pick with some good energy on board!

  • Fuel up!

    Nearest gas station is 10 miles away in Marshall, VA.

  • Bring a cooler

    with some ice to leave in your car for the trip home.

  • ASK ABOUT RESTRICTIONS BEFORE YOU GO!

  • Friendly, well-socialized dogs are generally permitted,on a short leash.

    • Dogs are permitted in the tree fruit orchards, but are not allowed in the vegetable gardens, strawberry patch, etc.
    • Please clean up after your pet.
    • Please be advised— heat, exertion of the hills, and crowds can make some pets feel stressed and prone to overheating. This can be an emergency for your pet.

While at the farm

As you set out to explore the enchanting world of Hollin Farms, we’ve got a few friendly guidelines to help you make the most of your visit. Think of these as the key to unlocking a day filled with joy, laughter, and the simple beauty of nature. Keep an eye out for the rules we’ve provided, and let’s make your farm adventure a delightful experience for all!

  • Back packs and large purses are not permitted

    Fanny packs, and small profile purses attached to body are permitted.

  • Carry just the essentials.

    Baby and first aid/medical items are allowed.

  • No Picnicking in the orchard area

    We do not have facilities for organized picnics, but you are welcome to find a grassy knoll and have a quick bite. Please don’t leave trash behind.

  • The terrain is hilly and accessibility to orchard areas is only by foot.

    We will do our best to accommodate folks with special mobility needs and elder (or mobility challenged person) to sit while others go off picking.

  • Parents- please mind your children

    and help them select their fruit.

  • No tree climbing.

    Our trees are fairly short, and most fruit is accessible from the ground. You are welcome to bring your own picking pole if you would like.

  • Please do not eat fruit in the orchard.

     

  • No educational groups or tours
